Ummm Rudy and Fred Thompson hold the same position on two things - Immigration and Gay Marriage.
You are very loose with the interpretations, aren't you? Fred Thompson has never suggested a "safe haven" for illegal border invaders, as Rudy did in New York City. FT also wants to secure the borders.
He also identifies a marriage as "between and man and a woman" but so far I have not heard where Thompson thinks a homosexual civil union is completely acceptable, as Julie-Annie does.
Hardly. This is a whopper that ranks with the claim that Rudy and Duncan Hunter have the same position on PBA bans. Rudy's past belies him in both cases.
The difference between the two of them is I believe Fred, because his record suggests he's trustworthy...and what Rudy is saying is completely 180 degrees away from everything he's ever done or said.
Irrelevant. Fred is widely viewed as far more conservative than Rudy. Perception is reality. Now, whether he beats Rudy in general polls is still undetermined, but Fred would immediately consolildate the Newt/Brownback/Hunter wing of the party, and vault him up to about 20% overnight. If the McCaniacs jump ship, Fred could get the lead.
Ummmmm, Weak attempt to drag Rudy up to Freds level. Rudys previous actions will be his downfall, not his claims.
When has Fred every marched in a gay pride parade with NAMBLA or stated homosexual was good and normal?
Tell us, areafiftyone, do you agree with Giuliani that homosexuality is good and normal?
And, no, Thompson hasn't filed lawsuits on behalf of illegals trying to skirt the law:
When Congress enacted immigration reform laws that forbade local governments from barring employees from cooperating with the INS, Mayor Rudy Giuliani filed suit against the feds in 1997. He was rebuffed by two lower courts, which ruled that the sanctuary order amounted to special treatment for illegal aliens and were nothing more than an unlawful effort to flaunt federal enforcement efforts against illegal aliens. In January 2000, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, but Giuliani vowed to ignore the law.
