He said that Bush should have cleaned out the DOJ of all the Democrats.

I wish I had kept a count of all the times I've said on this very forum

He cannot fire civil servants!!!!

Does President Bush have a spine on anything other than the war?

I want Mr. Majority Maker to take a long vacation. A long, long one.

I only caught that part today while driving in the car

I could have kicked him when I heard it .. even his assistant told him it was a bad idea

Sometimes things have to get worse before they stand a chance of getting better. Like chemotherapy or surgery for cancer. It sucks. Too bad the GOP partisans forgot who brought them to the dance - and why! It was not wise to piss away the Reagan Revolution.

I have to admit, your faux anger is laughable.  I've witnessed it many times by many posters on FR.

Yes, they have; but they're too smug to realize it. Won't until it's way too late.

Because not only have they screwed this president 24/7 for the last seven years, but they've pi$$ed off enough Republicans so they'll NEVER get another shot at manipulating the party.

Contrary to a lot of what some on here say, it is the "real, true" conservatives who need the GOP, not the other way around.

Which is why Plame was never fired after she had been outed and made into a left-winged star.

Today I've found the source of the ignorance on that point. It's listening to Limbaugh.

"Is it possible that he is getting horrible advice from someone?? I just don't get it. Is there some type of "Wormwood/Snake-tongue" Presidential Aid whispering into his ear at night?? It makes as much sense as anything else! This is just plain odd! The thing is,, the Dems are such easy targets! Bush has legions of conservatives that are standing on their tiptoes waiting for him to fight back! I really think that if he would stop cowering to the Dems, and stop slapping his base around,, the whole mood of the country would change for the better!"

As to your questions, I don't know the answers, but if there is such a person, the rest of the admin. should be right there pointing it out, and they aren't. I haven't liked the buddying up to Clinton the past few years for one thing, and I sure hope HE has no say.

That said, I agree with you. The entire country knows what the Dems are up to, and see right through their charade, yet the media and the Dems in general, think Americans are a bunch of boobs who don't know. We are all waiting for the President to lead, and to cut these commies off at the knees!

Just a guess--Arlen Specter?

I'd be tempted to give it to him

We get him out of the Senate and the Dems get to beat him up for the next 2 years

Could be a win win *L*

Don't bash Bush. He has had NO HELP from Republican Turncoats

This tempest in a teapot has absolutely, positively nothing to do with Republican Turncoats! It's very simple for Bush to say in effective "SHOVE IT! they serve at my pleasure and I don't have to answer to you rats..."

"The base," as some of you like to refer to yourselves as, has been a BIG part of the problem.

Actually, I've only noticed 3 major incidents: Dubai ports, Harriet, Brownie. Only the latter two came from the base.

Others, like the Schiavo matter, seemed more to be people like Dobson getting the GOP to try to pander to us. But it wasn't really a grassroots thing.

They have continually demanded for SOMEBODY'S head about something; a lot of the pandering to "the base" has been a HUGE problem during this administration and this Congress.

We're fine with Gonzales as AG. Not terribly fond of but we're okay. The bigger problem is how easily Bush is on the run from the Dims over something that is utterly inconsequential and perfectly legal.
