"Anti-Bush rant? I honestly believe you're making that up."

I'm not making it up. I heard it. He said that Bush should have cleaned out the DOJ of all the Democrats. Just like some of the stupid posters on this site who don't understand the difference between political appointments and civil service employees. And please don't pretend to say that Rush has been supporting this President. Because he hasn't.

Yep; one can only imagine what a confirmation hearing for a Bush nominee for VP would be like.

Interesting you mentioned New Coke--I read The Cola Wars; millions at stake over capturing the imagination and the loyalty of the public.

Today I was able to get through to a White House Comment Line (1-202-456-1111) operator and give my quick take:

We who voted for this president twice, in 2000 and 2004, are outraged at what we heard today, that the "White House hopes Attorney General Alberto Gonzales remains."

It's well past time for this president to make it clear all these attorneys serve at his pleasure, that Clinton fired 93 U.S. Attorneys in--

[At this point the operator cheerfully blurted out "1993! Good comment!"]

It is truly--TRULY--the Twilight Zone when the White House Comment Line Operator makes your point for you.

The New Tone has become "Why Not Take All of Me".

I am ready for an SOB to replace the civil, the compliant, the polite--the doormat.

I said, "So we are left to the tender mercies of the likes of CHUCK SCHUMER in sound bites every hour on the hour--"

And the comment line operator laughed--with me--and thanked me for a great comment.

The lights are on at 1600--but is it a timer.

There has never been a reserve of good will and support for Gonzales. If he is indeed thrown overboard, the President will be in for one helluva fight over the next nominee.

From the looks of having a new tone in Washington, I'd guess the next nominee will be someone that has been vetted by Leahy, Schumer, Kennedy and Specter to ensure smooth sailing during the hearings. We'll be lucky if we get even a RINO.

Me too. Since I don't think he is a coward, there has to be another explanation. It is quite worrying.

"Instead, the opportunists on our side decided to use this to weaken the President enough to get concessions from him on a variety of issues, and now look where we are!"

If they think that their efforts are going to leave this county stronger, they are sadly mistaken. We are in a world of hurt. And 2008 is going to be ugly.

How about a Bush replacement? How much more incompetence and surrender to the DNC can Conservatives take?

We will have plenty of time for these inter party scuffles. At this time, the only thing we can do is call the bustuds we elected and tell them to "fight, for our military's sake"....God knows the leftist media want to see our boys come home maimed and defeated.

Those kids are the only thing worth fighting for now. We can't let this turn into a Vietnam with our brave young men and women the pawns. The surge is stemming the tide and the anti American media and Dems don't want the American people to know it. Fight for our courageous military in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He said that Bush should have cleaned out the DOJ of all the Democrats.

That should have been done years ago.

And please don't pretend to say that Rush has been supporting this President. Because he hasn't.

Rush supports this president on many things. There are many things he doesn't agree with Bush on. Namely border security. Rush, like me, doesn't believe in third parties or staying at home on election day, like many stupid posters on this site believe.

Sometimes things have to get worse before they stand a chance of getting better. Like chemotherapy or surgery for cancer. It sucks. Too bad the GOP partisans forgot who brought them to the dance - and why! It was not wise to piss away the Reagan Revolution.

Yet another idiot reveling in what he has "wrought" on this country.

Put a sock in it. I highly doubt YOU brought anybody anywhere.

I did hear part of that.

I want Mr. Majority Maker to take a long vacation. A long, long one.

No, I didn't. I literaly had his program on for 2 mins, heard his complaint about what the Bush administration didn't do in the past, and OFF he went again.

*Throwing up my hands*

Howlin, you know I love you, but you'd never throw the towel in. 18 months ago you said you would if Harriet Miers was withdrawn. I'm trying to find the female Supreme Court justice currently on the bench nomimated by President Bush in 2005.
