Gall bladder attacks are miserable, aren't they? "Give me morphine and give it to me now!"

In my case, nausea and belly pain after eating greasy foods and a trip to the emergency room if I ate artichokes.

I just had mine removed about a week ago. How are you feeling?

Ugh! I was nauseated for the first 4 days after surgery. I can't even imagine eating that. I'm just now getting back to "regular" foods. But looking at anything too fattening just turns my stomach. But, hey, it's been great for my waistline!
I have a friend that had a Whataburger right after her gallbladder surgery. ::::Shudder:::::

Thanks for the info- and get well!

Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions. I've been real busy wrapping up some loose ends prior to the surgery since I won't be able to talk for a while.
My insurance company lost much of my info from their system. Nice timing eh? Ugh. And they don't have email! It's 2007 and not a one of them has email so that I can "talk" to them and get this mess sorted out. I'm ticked.
Anywhoo, thanks for all of your suggestions. An ice cream based diet sounds just fine to me. ;-)

I had my gall bladder removed a week ago today. I am going okay, although I need to figure out how my digestive tract is going to respond to various foods. Im going to talk to a dietitian, and get something for bulk. I am definitely staying away from fat. Doc was right about that one, the liver can not make the bile I need in concentration. Small meals seem to be working for me.

Ramen Noodles, low sodium soups (salt will iritate),scrambled eggs, ice water (citrus and tomato will iritate).
Sleep in an easy chair to avoid reflux. (better support than a hospital bed).
Feel free to write directly, as I've been going through this for months.

Any creamy pie filling without the crust -- except perhaps lemon - might sting.
And the four food groups -- chocolate pudding, chocolate frosting, chocolate ice cream, chocolate cheese cake. :-D
