White House says it hopes Gonzales remains attorney general

Amid bipartisan calls for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' resignation in a scandal over dismissals of eight federal prosecutors, the White House said Monday, “We hope he stays.” When asked if Gonzales will serve for the rest of President Bush's term, White House press secretary Tony Snow said, “Well, we hope so.”

I agree mostly, although you may not be giving Romney enough credit. I've been reading articles on some of his press conferences in Massachusetts -- the guy did not take the media's crap, and he didn't let their lies go unchallenged, either.

HELLO PEOPLE:

The remaining prosecutors are siding with the Democrats on this one.

The 80+ prosecutors that were NOT fired probably want Gonzalez out ONLY because he is a bush appointment.

They want to keep their jobs.

ITS ABOUT THE JUDGES. Those 80+ DOJ prosecutors are YOUR FUTURE JUDGES! They represent 60% of the judicial candidate pool. Liberal lawyers who are waiting in the wings.

how many times (countless!) did we warn jorge to clean house on taking office

new tone said 'non', and proceeded to be betrayed and punished by every department, from the cia to state to the judiciary

a naive incompetent couldn't do it worse
