Giuliani backtracks on smoking comment (smoke Nazi)

A day after he implied that Ireland should not follow New York City’s example and pass a ban on smoking in all workplaces, Rudolph Giuliani called Mayor Michael Bloomberg to say that was not what he meant.

Bloomberg said the former mayor told him that he meant that Ireland, which currently has no smoking restrictions, should begin to restrict smoking slowly, rather than all at once.

“He just thought that sometimes you go partways to get there, let people adjust and then go the rest of the way,” Bloomberg said yesterday.

Giuliani said that it made more sense to restrict smoking to certain areas.

All smokers want to quit, they just don't all admit it.

Kindly speak for yourself and not others.

"I am thankful that my state passed strict smoking laws, it helped me quit. All smokers want to quit, they just don't all admit it."

Those two sentences just defined liberalism.

What's wrong with that?

One of two things will happen now:
1.) Rudophiles ignore post, pretend it never happened.
2.) Rudophiles explain why Rudy is right to call for stricter smoking bans.

I spotted a #2 in post #3

Rudy is of the political philosphy on "How to boil a Frog"

He wants to do the same here with social and constitutional positions that are in league with Hillary/Obama/Murtha and company.

"They are too stupid to know what hit them that way."

You absolutely nailed it! The man's contempt for the public comes through loud and clear.

Ah, so you get to impose your views on other smokers, eh? You're a natural fit for the Rudy camp.

If Rudy drops out, then there will be an opportunity for Bloomberg to jump in the race. They have nearly identical philosophies.

And remember, Bloominidiot was a life long "D", till they wouldn't back him for mayor.

Does New York's law require that business owners and individuals be fined, do you know?

I don't believe that most people will quit because of these laws, simply because you can still step outside to smoke. Many working places have been smoke-free for years and people have been doing this. And, I don't think that if they banned alcohol in public places that people would quit drinking alochol either.

My town passed a no smoking law.

This is the first St Patrick's Day that my friends and I were able to go out to the bars, watch the game clearly, wear what we wanted without dry cleaning and not have to shower the smoke stench off of us before we went to bed.

It was glorious freedom!!!

And you lacked the willpower to do it on your own, so you wanted the government to step in against EVERYONE, regardless of what they wanted, in order to help you to quit.

Also, you claimed to know what everyone else wants - "even if they don't admit it".

Are you a liberal? Maybe. But spouting stuff like that means you sure ain't a conservative.
