This article is a monumental, gargantuan stretch.

It will never happen.

Time to quit haggling to sell someone inappropriate and start looking for a uniter.

Thompson looks pretty good and would be a great candidate..

This logic only works if one believes that the entire country is represented by NYC.

It is not. Not even close. NYC doesn't even represent a typical city in America.

NYC doesn't even represent NY state.

Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, were/are staunch pro lifers and the only thing they were able to do is to appoint the right kind of judges, and even they didn't get each one right. So the fact that they were prolife didn't really have any more impact

The pro-life cause was advanced during their terms.

To a lesser degree, it was advanced during Clinton's term, because we could stand in opposition to "the other party's culture of death".

How are we going to stand against the "culture of death" when our own party elected it?

Yet, on the Fox News show, Giuliani said that he supports a ban on partial-birth abortion as long as there is a provision to protect the life of the mother.

"If it has provision for the life of the mother, then I would support it," he told the Fox News program.

Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives yesterday passed H.R. 760, the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, by a margin of 282-139. Congressman Duncan Hunter (CA-52), who is a cosponsor of the legislation, proudly voted in favor of this measure which prohibits medical doctors, except in situations where the LIFE OF THE MOTHER is threatened, from utilizing certain procedures that involve the partial delivery of a living unborn baby, killing the child, then completing the delivery

Social conservatives could benefit from the presidency of someone who agrees with them less but fights for them more.

Bump!

And if some of you are wondering what the problem is with licensing gun owners, you should know that last week a newspaper made public the registry of every citizen in Virginia who had a concealed carry permit, which required government approval and therefore were government records.

This is a nice article promoting Mr. Giuliani.

It's only flaw is that it is out of touch with reality.

Here are a couple of examples:

"George W. Bush has socially conservative opinions but..."

"He will nominate sound judges (most of the time) but never make the case that Roe v. Wade needs to be overturned..."

Actually, President Bush has made the case that Roe must be overturned. The author is dealing in fiction.

"The 'pro-choice' argument has always been incoherent because it depends on the absurd idea that there can be a constitutional right to do wrong. Rational and decent people can believe that abortion should be legal, but only a monster or a moron can maintain that a civilized nation should celebrate abortion as a constitutional right."

I actually agree with this. However, Mr. Giuliani, then, is one of the monsters or morons who has actually CELEBRATED abortion as a constitutional right, actually GIVING SPEECHES at ANNIVERSARY DINNERS CELEBRATING the "right" to abortion.

Thus, it is entirely out of touch with reality when the author writes:

"Social conservatives don't need a president who will mount a crusade to re-criminalize abortion nationwide. They need a president who can persuade the American people that proclaiming a constitutional right to abort is barbaric. In all the decades since Roe v. Wade no politician has ever made this point clearly and forcefully.

"Giuliani could be the first. He could argue that there can't be a right to do wrong more persuasively and with much less political risk than any pro-life true believer."

Mr. Giuliani has been a pro-abort since 1989, and has affirmed Roe as good constitutional law, has affirmed that abortion is a constitutional "right," and even during his current presidential run has adamantly refused to back off his fervent belief that abortion is a constitutional "right."

The author is lost in his own dreamworld.

article: "- Can a man who wears neither boxers nor briefs because he is Mormon and his church prescribes something different, appeal to evangelical Christians?"

In my understanding, the special underwear thing is only for when they go to certain events. And it is not clear if the wearing of special underwear is required or optional and how many actually do wear it.

I think this is inaccurate and probably anti-Mormon. Of course, Mormons are generally whites so I guess you can make stuff up and slander them at will.

Heartbeats start 18 days after conception.
Brainwaves about four weeks.

Yet you're willing to support a guy who says maybe he'll support a child's Right to Life when the lower half of its body is already kicking on the delivery table... maybe.

Do Rudy supporters even realize that they have an eternal soul?
If so, do they even care about where their souls will spend eternity?

I'm not being snide -- honest, I'm really not. I really do not get it.
Jesus of Nazareth spoke with hatred -- unabashed, uncompromising HATRED -- towards those who would even hurt defenseless children:

Am I really living in a Nation where so-called "Christian Conservatives" would condemn their souls to the everlasting Hatred of Jesus for the sake of a possible, no-guarantees, one-time election victory against a two-bit harridan from Arkansas?

What Country is this? What have you done with my Church, and my America??

There is what Rudy supports and campaigns for. He tried to defeat PBA. He is an endorsed NARAL Champion Of Choice and accepts awards from them and celebrates the victories of pro-abortion candidates with them. NARAL gave him 4 times as much money as it gave Hitlery.

I just have to think about Ron Paul and how he's never done an abortion and has delivered over 4,000 babies.

"It got them FLOPSWEATING like Al Gore on an hot August afternoon!!"

Seems to be your favorite phrase to use around here. Yeah, we're flop sweating alright, from ROTF laughing at the liberal propaganda being spewed out here 24/7 from the Rudygogaga fans. We find it laughable at how ignorant you all are to think that Rudy has a snow ball chance in you know where to become president. We're flop sweating from watching you all make complete fools of yourself. ROTFLOL!!! (and flop sweatin' too!)

I need to go get a dry flop sweat towel (beach towel) and get ready for the Rudygogagafans post some more laughable reasons as to why Rudy is the *only* one who can beat Hillary (LOL!) and why we conservatives need Rudy so bad (ROTFLOL!).

Fire away Rudygogofans with more of your ridiculous threads and posts. Keep us laughing and flop sweating...until Rudy sizzles out. ROTFLOL and FSAO (Flop Sweating All Over)!!

Rudy is a fiscal and law and order conservative and I'm delighted that Americans are smart enough to recognize that.

Yes it is .
IT's heartbreaking.

To see ones beloved country swirling in the vortex as it'd flushed down the toilet.

The GOP has been the only force guarding the gate ... the only real hope to gain control of our once great country.
If rudy is all we have to offer , then we are truly done.
