What do you think they should do with a dead body? Lock it in the restroom? Toss it out an emergency door? What?
A problem as frequent as this, and as potentially PR-negative as this, calls for design changes in the airplane itself.
I am not sure of this, but isn't there access to the luggage bay from within the plane? Atleast some sort of an intermediary, hermetic containment area? Surely this isn't a rocket-science problem!
The airline probably spends more on alleviating the negative image than solving this issue.

Ships have burial at sea so why not a special dump chute for burial at air.
DON'T LOOK UP!
That's the best idea. Put the corpse of the dear departed one in a first class head and let the firsty elites use the coach heads.
Since this is a fairly frequent occurrence for airlines, you'd think they'd keep some sort of harness type seat belt add-on handy, so that the body can at least be secured to a seat. The same sort of thing would be handy for seriously disruptive passengers who need to be restrained. Other passengers should be able to recognize that the body can't be stuffed in a restroom or overhead bin, but being expected to spend hours on a flight with a dead body in a nearby seat, that keeps sliding down to the floor and needing to be re-propped, seems a tad unresonable and pretty easily avoidable.
