Fortunately my dog never eats dog food, he gets far to much table scraps.
It's likely closer to 10,000.
My poodle has been sick since Wed. She is going to the vet tomorrow.
We feed her One dry and some form of Alpo wet (plus table scraps).
The last few days home cooked rice and chicken breast.
I didn't see Alpo on the list but I'm wondering.
She has diarrhea but seems chipper .
"Thanks for the link, unfortunately, they want you to pay for a membership before being able to browse the online store."
Ahhhhh ... sorry - just Google BARF and go from there.
"They also get a raw chicken thigh a couple of times a week to keep their teeth in good shape."
Best to use non-weight bearing bones unless grinding.

this is the best there is - expensive - you need to keep what you are not using frozen - no preservatives. They ship on availability - not available in stores.
Great to suppliment BARF with.
Rocket fuel ... http://www.greentripe.com/noguts2.htm
This stuff must be kept frozen - in it's own freezer (a smell only an animal could love) - simply along with the best. What do predators go for first on a kill? The stomach and all inside it then the trachea. Meat and bones are later.
If you have the bucks and want a long lived healthy hound or cat - stop feeding commercial and give them what they need.
Yeah - it takes some prep time - is your baby worth it? or do you just want to feed them quick. Take responsibility!

There's a lot of garbage in pet food. This is what I feed my dog...

agree
I lie what we feed
Our dogs digestive problems have disappeared since we started using this stuff.

I've been feeding my cats mostly Innova Evo dry cat food plus a little bit of canned stuff (including people tuna) and some fresh meat; fortunately, none of the canned stuff I'm using is on the recall lists I've seen so far. Innova Evo is a non-grain, low-carbohydrate cat food (though it does have some potato in it).
That's exactly what a couple of veterinarian friends of mine say...
I returned a bunch of food....I've been feeding a variety of the foods on the list to both my cats and the feral cats. I'll never know if the ferals get sick.
Funny you should mention that. According to some boards....BUSH changed the FDA regulations on Pet food? Anyone know if that's true?
Another news article on this.

But wait..........
I feed my labs Science Diet Weight Control formula. For extra protein, they eat a stray cat every six weeks or so.
Interestingly enough, pet food controls are more strict than human food. People get more upset when Fluffy gets sick than Sue.
