That's what I was wondering . Does the felony stick if it's a no contest plea , or was ajudication withheld in this case ?

One thing the Republicans should have done while they were in power would have been to adjust GCA'68 so that the "felony" status of a law was based upon actual prison term, rather than theoretical maximum. If a judge lets someone off with probation or, as in this case, declines to even impose that, that would suggest pretty strongly that the person was not a menace to society.

Those cops are now the laughing stocks of the force. That alone is worth the cost.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

They may have to resign to get any peace, I can hear it now,"let me hear this one more time, one FIFTY-SIX YEAR OLD MAN beat the crap out of the two of you?" "How many of you jerks would it take to arrest a FORTY YEAR OLD?"

Sadly, the good cops out there end up tarred with the same brush as these all-too-typical Barney Fifes. Note to donut-shop commandoes everywhere: leave "dynamic entry" jobs to the SWAT team and stick to busting teenagers for making out in the park. Otherwise you risk getting a richly-deserved thumping like these clowns got.

I take that back. Barney would never have thrown a lady to the ground.

Yeah, I think you are right. No regard for law. Sort of like the illegals. They are above the law.

This disturbs me. It's almost as though the ADA is saying, "It doesn't matter that my deputies violated the constitution and entered a man's house illegally. If they had just done what we wanted, we wouldn't have hurt them.""

The deputies are lucky they didn't come to my house. I don't have a tase. Mr Remington lives here.

I just had a flashback to the mid-1970's when I used to frequent Clovis, NM bars in my foolish youth.

There was a (then) older (about the same age as this guy) rancher who would only occasionally come to town, come into a bar and loudly announce "All you big 'uns stand up, and all you little 'uns bunch up!"

Of course, his reputation preceded him, and nobody generally did; except on one occasion, he was challenged by a couple of young off-duty cops.

The fight was over in about 15 seconds and the cops wound up wearing their a$$es for hats.

It was a beautiful thing.

the 2 ass-clown deputies should be fired, and Coffin should be made an honorary deputy.

ROFLMAO!!! Well said!

I sure hope so.

Destroy them as a lesson to the other badge jockeys that they are not above the law they are so aggressive in applying to the heads of "civilians".

Why weren't these deputies charged with assault and false imprisonment for what they did to his wife? Those deputies committed a pretty long list of felonies and the homeowner is the one on trial?

This is why cops get no sympathy from me - cops are above the law.

Good! LEOs in my house illegally should have no more rights than any other armed intruder.

They were serving civil papers. I believe it is an abuse of the commission to mix civil functions and criminal ones. If the papers are civil, the officers should be treated as normal citizens doing the serving.

But there is money involved in many cases.

Sigh.

There is a seventy-two year old Korean war vet at my Gym that I wouldn't pick a fight with.
