I am not a policy / legislating genius. I would like the law (if I were Queen) to make death penalty for anyone sexually abusing a young child. However, the cases would be difficult. Imagine a babysitter accused of molesting a child in the bath, but it's hearsay with no scars on the child. You wouldn't get far prosecuting that, either.
And if we say that we would not want anyone 12 and under molested, I believe we are encouraging the pedophiles who prey on young teens. That upsets me greatly. Especially a perv who has molested more than one teen. I'd like to see strong penalties for statutory rape; maybe short of death unless multiple kids are involved?
Not idiotic. Just not carefully planned. Perhaps as in my previous post the law could best be worded with severe penalties for those who molest only one teen, but those convicted of molesting more than one could receive death?
People maybe do not understand how an adult having sex with a teen ruins the teen's thinking and life for some time, if not forever. This should be discouraged strongly. Penalties now are not strong enough.
We can't compare this with our grandparents, who married in their teens. That was very different from today's coaches and teachers getting off on their students.
Underage people should not be given the power to consent. They do not have the right decision-making processes, no matter how smart and no matter how sexually mature.
I know of one County Attorney who was elected partly on a promise to vigorously prosecute every "child molester" (and partly because his opponent was caught with a near underage girl). He asked the Sheriff to bring him every case because he was going to clean up the county. Within weeks he had so many cases that it would have taken his entire staff his entire term to prosecute them if they handled no other cases. He had to back completely off. It is far more prevalent than most people recognize.
Hence statutory rape laws. But to call this 'child molestation' is ridiculous.
I'm saying this from a very pro death penalty perspective.
Those 'young teens' were getting married and having kids 1000 years ago.
Human biology certainly designated them as ready.
I don't want anyone of any age molested. But molestation isn't an arbitrary, one-size-fits-all age. Molestation is taking one sided advantage of one party's immaturity or social subordinate status. You can do that to a retarded 35 year old and it'd be just as wrong as touching a 12 year old.

I was born into child pornography. My genetic birth mother was a pedophile. I was unable to remember anything before the age of about nine until I went thru recall in my mid-thirties. At first you think youre crazy until you realize these memory flashes are real, then you wish you were crazy. Anything would be better than this being real. It begins to sink in. This is not a bad dream you can wake up from, it is an actual part of your literal life. You will resort to anything to block these memories, living on pure adrenaline, not sleeping for weeks at a time because your nightmares are not nightmares. The medical term for a stab wound is a hard laceration. I have nine of them on my left forearm. You begin to substitute physical pain to mask your heartache. When you cut yourself the first time, you experience a euphoric relief that is by far the most wonderful feeling you have ever had in your entire life. Your wound hurts like hell, but that unbearable ache in your heart is in the background for the first time in your life! The adrenaline stops. You can sleep for a few nights
it is heaven on earth and you feel brand new. But the cut heals and the heartache and the adrenaline comes back. The next time you cut deeper hoping the euphoria will be even greater and last longer, but it becomes like every other addiction, it stops working no matter how much you increase the dose or how deep you push the knife. My first self inflicted wound was near the top of my forearm close to my elbow and went across my arm. Each cut got lower and deeper. The last two were deep and not across my wrist, but lengthwise. I told myself I was just trying to hurt myself to stop the pain, when in reality, I was coming to peace with the fact that the knife had to go as deep as it had to go. If it could no longer deliver me from this heartache, it could at least finally end this torture, except for one thing: I also knew I was the only dad my two somehow perfect boys would ever have. So I made the decision that I was not going to kill myself, and God gave me the strength to live. What my genetic mother and her boyfriend and their monstrous friends did to me and forced me to do, tortured every single moment of my life for the next thirty years. There is only one thing that could be worse. That would be to re-live my torturous childhood by repeating it. So I say kill any child rapist after their first offense, especially a so-called victim of abuse who knows first hand the torturous heartbreak they inflict on that innocent child for every single moment of the rest of their lives. Child rapists suffer from a spiritual deformity that we on earth have no way of dealing with, much less curing. The only right thing to do, the only compassionate thing to do with a child rapist, is to execute them after their first offense.
Thank God he's been able to survive his ordeal.
Now I suppose you'll tell us you're against homosexuals and their agenda for America. (It's all about the children.)
Homosexuals should not have an agenda for anything, let alone America. They should keep their sexuality a private matter as most heterosexuals do. That way most people would not have a problem with it. Instead they seem to want to ram it down your throat and stick your face in it, no pun intended.
