Gordon Kahl was under surveillance and he knew it. He could have been picked up at the meeting, but the Feds had a surprise for him and wanted the remoteness of a rural environment.

Fulton DA seeks charges in shooting of 92-year-old woman in her home
On Nov. 21, three narcotics officers went to the home of Kathryn Johnston, 92, to execute a "no knock" warrant. A shootout ensued during which Johnston was killed and the three officers were injured....
I'm starting to think that it might make sense to start a list of "adrenaline cowboy" incidents with LEOs. I suppose I'll start with this thread and add the keyword Adrenaline Cowboys when I remember to.
