"I am not here to sell aeroplanes, but I can tell you that the F-16 is the best there is...."

Riiight. Who knows, it may even be true.

The US should be pushing for even stronger ties with India. With their economic development and problem neighbors, I can see India being one of the top 3 allies for the US in the future.

"Look at what happened to Malaysia. They opted for a mix of F-16s and MiG-29s. Very soon, they dumped the MiG-29s due to problems of inter-operability," the official pointed out, speaking on condition of completely off the wall.

Malyasia as never operated the F-16. And at last count they were still operating both the MiG-29 and the F-18

And they seem to like a mix of types

6 Squadron BAE 108/208 Hawk
12 Squadron Northrop F-5E/F, RF-5E
18 Squadron Boeing F/A-18D Hornet
19 Squadron MiG 29N/UB

and

SU-30MKM Flanker being delivered

All that and pretty, too!

But ALL miltary hardware sold to other countries needs to have a hidden, remotely activated self destruct installed in case it is ever turned against us!

I know I'd rather have an F-16E Block 60 with AESA radar, just like the UAE bought, than an F/A-18E.

A Super Hornet is slower than a Hornet.

I just found this kinda weird:

Bruce S. Lemkin, US deputy under secretary of the air force...
Lemkin, a former US Navy officer who has served on six nuclear submarines and commanded two of them...

I don't see India purchasing a F-16's when Pakistan fields F-16s.

However, if we are going to sell f-16 Block 60's, Taiwan could use a few dozen.
