Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has apologized to U.S. attorneys under him and appointed an interim chief of staff as pressure builds for him to resign.

Gonzales apologized to all 93 U.S. attorneys in a conference call Friday as morale in U.S. attorneys' offices across the country deteriorated, McClatchy Newspapers reported. Gonzales has been at the center of a controversy over the way in which eight U.S. attorneys were fired in recent months

stick a fork in this administration, its done

It floored me when I read the seating arrangements for press conferences yesterday. But I don't guess it should have as the day before, Bush was praising Kennedy while in Mexico and the man to get the job done. Barf, Barf!

Now we have mealey mouth Gonzales apologizing for his own stupidity.

This is frankly unbelievable on its face. However, the only thing I can think of is that Bush WANTS Gonzalez out, for whatever reason, and is hanging him out to dry until he quits.

If this is true, though, Bush sustains colossal damage in that he looks weak, vacillating and susceptible to 'Rat pressure. I've given up on figuring out his super-duper double-secret poker game.

And when you are done with that question, and since you know so much about the apology, can you please give me the direct quote and the source of the so-called Gonzales apology ?

There is a THREAD called Gonzalez Apologizes to all 93 US Attorneys.....did you not see it?

Does that "THREAD" contain a direct quote, as I asked for??

Does somebody who fires 8 U.S. attorneys have a backbone in your eyes?

What the hell does a backbone have to do with firing 8 attorneys?

So then if these 8 attorneys weren't fired, the AG backbone or lack of it would not be relevant?

Meanwhile, because a AG supposidely apologized for something -- we don't know what -- this AG has no back bonebone?

Anything you the HELLL say Suzy.

I'd rather he resign than apologize, because there is nothing for which to apologize. If he is so weak that he is going to fall for this ruse, then he should resign. I wouldn't miss him, because all he seems to be doing is sitting in his office and being Hispanic.

"I think he should resign for apologizing"

He should resign for NON-ENFORCEMENT of our Border Laws, or the WRIST SLAP he gave Sandy Burglar and for the the jailing of two border patrol agents...

to start with.

I hope Gonzales goes down. He's too much of a pansy for that job. And his pro-illegal stance isn't exactly a plus.

Gonzalez is sickening. He should resign for the inept prosecution of Sandy Berger and the non prosecution of Rep. Jefferson of New Orleans as well as the corrupt Mayor Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin who had several hundred "Ghost" Police Officers on the payroll that didn't even exist.
Not to mention the non prosecution of immigration offenses and the persecution of border LEO's.

<His apology speaks volumes about why the criminals in the socialist democrat party are still active and untouched.<

Not to mention the ACLU or the NEA. Attorneys General? Exactly what are the duties of that office?

The attorneys should not have been cited as having performance issues just to look good to the media in dismissing them.
