This is more proof that setting an arbitrary timetable for withdrawl is so wrong. We need to have confidence that our men/women in uniform will work their way through this - as unconventional a war as we've ever fought - and need to support them when they do. Sometimes all we need is more time for things to work out.
The Dimocraps must be non too happy to hear this.

What youre beginning to see now in Baghdad is joint security stations which have Iraqi police, Iraqi military and coalition soldiers all living and working together out in the neighborhoods, he said, describing the approach as a twist on an ongoing strategy that has benefited from a reenergized effort in the past couple months. What!? Coalition (American) forces deployed in, patrolling in, where necessary fighting in, the various ethnic (and mixed) neighborhoods, sometimes living there, working intimately with Iraqi troops and police?
How can that be working? Wouldn't that be, how do the Democrats put it: "placing American soldiers in the middle of a civil war"?

(I don't worry about the war turning into "Vietnam" in Iraq; I worry about it doing so in Congress.)
