Please point to that provision of the Constitution that empowers the Federal Government to require a license to sell firearms.

One of the motivations for holding the Constitutional convention, was that the Articles of Confederation did not provide for the regulation of interstate commerce. See Article 8 of the US Constitution, "The Congress shall have the power to... regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;"
