For a minute or two after reading it I felt rather insulted. Then I imagined the IRS employee filling this out, probably chewed out for not meeting deadlines, cursing me under his/her breath because it was going to cost at least one more stamp to tell me to stop harrassing them.

I was just following the law. If you filed last year you have to file this year and if you earn anything you have to file. There's nothing on the form saying you don't have to file if you didn't earn enough to pay taxes. I've been chuckling about it ever since.
