Question: was Joe Wilson still an ambassador at the time he was sent to Africa, or was he a former ambassador of some nation during Clinton? If he was still an ambassador during Bush or anywhere on the Bush payroll, they have no one but themselves to blame for this fiasco.
The same thing is exactly what is happening with this non-issue with the US attorneys. You don't leave RATS on the payroll without adverse consequences.
Tenet should have been fired on day 1.
What a condescending little smile... I think it's pretty safe to say that Valerie doesn't like Westmoreland.
Wilson was a career Foreign Service Officer. He retired from the DOS in 1998.
Sorry to be so late answering your question...I got called away! Wilson was not an Ambassador at the time he went to Niger in 2002. In 1992, President George H. W. Bush named Wilson the U.S. Ambassador to the Gabonese Republic and, concurrently, to the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe - positions Wilson held until 1995. In 1997 President William Jefferson Clinton appointed him to the National Security Council where he handled African affairs. Wilson left the council in 1998. I agree with you about Tenet, and I think all Clinton holdovers should have been terminated on day 1.
