I think Thompson enjoys acting a lot more, than being a politician. Who wouldn't?

Yep, as in "Ronald Reagan, politician-actor".

It may just have gotten a little harder for Rudybots to palm off a NYC liberal RINO on conservative grassroots Republican voters if an authentic, well known, conservative, respected Republican Senator from a conservative state like TN throws his hat in the ring. RINORudy and his easily accessed record of wholehearted support for both pre-birth abortion and partial birth abortion, "gay" marriage" aka civil unions, and total opposition to 2nd Amendment rights, may not look quite so appealing to real Republicans when he's stood up beside a candidate with a lifetime voting record that is 100% favorable to the pro-life side of that issue, plus a similar record on 2nd Amendment issues and opposition to the "gay rights" agenda.

I predict an A-plus rating for Thompson from the 5 million member NRA if he gets into the race, and there can't be any possible NRA rating for Rudy other than a big fat F-minus since his anti-gun record is equally as bad as F-minus rated Shmucky Shumer's.

Thompson hasn't announced anything yet and he may not jump into the race, but at least the possibility that he will run has no doubt raised the spirits of millions of conservative Republicans like myself who have been totally aghast at the dismal prospect of a choice in '08 between a socially liberal collectivist with a D after his or her name or a socially liberal authoritarian with an R after his name.
