Maybe Duncan Hunter will suspend the ROE. For sure if he becomes President, he will pardon each and every one of our Haditha Marines. No man should be able to reach the rank of General without serving on the ground in a war zone IMHO.

With few exceptions, every general and admiral who devised the Vietnam rules of engagement referenced above was a pilot, deck officer, or company commander decorated for valor in combat in World War II, Korea, or both. In fact, decorated combat officers were prevalent even among the civilian decisionmakers in Congress, the White House and Pentagon at the time. Unfortunately, valor in youth is no guarantee of prudence in authority.
