I'm not big on any poll Zogby does, but this one rings true. It is beyond me why last place CBS does not jetison Kute Kattie and hire Brit Hume. Or somebody willing to play the news straight. Their ratings would triple overnight.

Guess CBS doesn't need the money. What say the stockholders?

Or somebody willing to play the news straight.

They would have to replace their whole newsroom.

The person out front is really just a news reader. They read what someone else puts up on the teleprompter.

Note how those who left FOX suddenly moved to the left, and those who left one of the others and went to FOX moved to the right.

There are too many jobs at stake for them to make much of a move.

'Cuz Moonves doesn't have the stones.

If he brought Hume in, he would also have to clean out the entire news division. And even if he cleaned out the entire news division, he'd still have a bunch of libs from the entertainment division to deal with. (Can you imagine the kind of abuse Letterman would launch against Moonves?).

But, you are correct that the ratings would skyrocket.

It'll take a major shakeup at one of the nets before they'll dare hire Brit Hume. My bet is that Fox affiliates start airing "Special Report" and he crushes ABCBSNBC before they wake up....
