Conservative Former Congressman Henry Hyde And Fox’s Liberal Alan Colmes Agree Duncan Hunter’s win in South Carolina is the big story Hyde endorses Hunter for President

Well known veteran Congressman, Henry Hyde, has endorsed Duncan Hunter for President. Hyde, a longtime representative from Illinois, calls Hunter one of the most qualified candidates he has seen in his long and illustrious career. “I proudly support my good friend and fellow public servant, Duncan Hunter, for the office of President of the United States,” said Hyde. “Duncan Hunter brings a wealth of experience, great foreign and domestic knowledge, and an energetic spirit to this race for the White House. I like his chances, and I like his platform a lot,” noted Hyde.

Speaking from his Chicago home, Hyde said he was confident Hunter was gaining the necessary support to win the race. Hyde noted “Duncan is receiving the endorsement of the rank and file Republicans evidenced by his outright win over John McCain in the Arizona straw poll and last week’s statistical tie with [Rudy] Giuliani and McCain in the South Carolina straw poll.” Continuing, Hyde said “The big news is this clearly shows a cry for a true conservative candidate. I submit this cry has been answered by Duncan Hunter. Outspent ten to one by his opponents, Hunter only missed winning the whole thing by seven votes.”

Thursday March 1, Alan Colmes on the Fox’s Hannity and Colmes show said “In the South Carolina Straw Poll results, Duncan Hunter is the big story in that there is a hunger for a truly conservative candidate.”

Final Straw Poll Results were:

Top three: McCain: 164 24 % Giuliani: 162 24% Hunter: 158 24%

Followed by Brownback: 85 13% Romney: 80 12% Huckabee: 21 3%

Hyde was born in Chicago, Cook County, Ill. and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. He earned his Juris Doctor Degree from, Loyola University Law School. He served as a lawyer in private practice until he entered the United States Navy in 1944. He then served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1946 to 1968.

Hyde was first elected to the Illinois State House of Representatives and served from 1967 to 1974. He was majority leader in 1971 and 1972. He was a delegate to the Illinois State Republican Conventions from 1958 through 1974.

Hyde moved to Washington as a member of Congress. He was first elected to Congress in 1974, and there served 16 terms. He was chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary in the 104th through 105th Congresses. He chaired the Committee on International Relations from the 107th through the 109th Congresses. Hyde chose not to run for reelection to the 110th Congress.

Uh, he was agreeing with Henry Hyde. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. In alan's case twice a year.

THE story is about Hyde's endorsement. CONCENTRATE, I know you can do it.

Between Chuck Yeager (born February 13, 1923), and Henry Hyde (born April 18, 1924), DH has the endorsement of 167 years of wisdom and experience.

Pissant... You are absolutely incredible in finding Duncan Hunter stories!

If we'd have had you in Iraq hunting WMD's, Bush would have been declared Nostradamus by now.

I guess it could be said that by not voting for him, you did, indeed, vote for Cantwell, pissant. Linda Smith, where are you when we need you?

No that cannot be said. I may have witheld a vote for milquetoast, but I gave no vote to airhead. It's a wash.

Nevertheless, I hope Rossi runs against Patty Murray. He will beat her like a toy bongo.

Are you a Washingtonian?

Thank you??? :o)
Though I am not yet ready for a nursing home, and in some ways am still a "20 something gal", I have been around long enough to have gathered a considerable sense of history, and the certain knowledge that God is good.

Agreed. Just how can we help accomplishs that? I doubt the Central committee would pay us any more heed than the RNC does.

Hyde had an affair. He's a sinner and disqualified.

Hunter might as well invite Ted Faggard on board his campaign train.

Henry Hyde is a class act and a significant elder statesman in the Party. I think his endorsement of Hunter will have some impact.

Well, hopefully, after being beaten like a red headed stepchild for the last few years, they will tack to the right. I may finally get involved.

Let him without sin cast the first stone.
