There was a story of an elderly imam who preached the Koran for several years. On his deathbed, he requested a copy of the Koran. After it was given to him, he shocked his friends and family that gathered around by saying "I reject everything in this book", he then died immediately.

I wish I could remember the name of the book. It is one of several that I have read the last two years on Islam. Many talk about illiterate imams hammering the Koran into very young children. And the children being able to recite many passages but having no idea the meaning of those passages.

Yeah, because they are required to memorize it in Arabic and unless they are fluent in Arabic, they might as well be memorizing baby talk.
