Outside of winning a House seat (and most districts are heavily gerrymandered at this point) has Duncan Hunter won any other elective office?

No more than Congressman Abraham Lincoln did in 1860.

That was 1860, and I'm not sure the word gerrymander had any meaning at that point.

Also, I'm not sure people had completely defecated on the position of 'representative' at that point.

Since 1940, how many reps or Senators have been elected, besides Kennedy? Truman doesn't count, because he was only re-elected President. I actually think you can go back further than that, but let's go back to 1940.
