I think you guys said that about Duncan Hunter too - but you can dream all you want. Outside of FR Fred Thompson is not that well known as a politician. He is known more for being a TV Star. He is hardly the political rock star you think he is outside of FR.

If Fred Thompson is running he had better get started. He needs to get past the three front runners, one being his very good friend McCain who he supported him in the 2000 elections.

BTW, the first time Fred Thompson was mentioned in FR was exactly ten days ago in a thread about him possibly running.  http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1794264/posts#comment?q=1  There are 980 posts to that thread, generally positive.  Makes one wonder if Freepers are as pliable as marshmallows.  How 'bout Thompson?  41% yea!!!  How 'bout Gingrich?   41% yea!!!  How 'bout Giuliani?  41% yea!!!  How 'bout Hunter? 41% yea!!!
