I can understand your point. Rudy isn't a social conservative. But, he is a good leader. He got things done despite constant opposition from liberals in the press and city council and from civic groups.

Of course, It also helps in his presidential bid that New York City improved in every category under his administration.

But, all is not peaches and cream in Rudyland. The city did experience a budget deficit after he left office. However, if you will recall that was the fiscal year following 9-11. There were reasons.
