I agree with you. We have no legal basis to tell Halliburton that they can't move their corporate headquarters wherever they want.
OTOH, we have the right to decide not to work with them anymore, we have the right to state that by law, we will only work with American, NATO or other country with which we have a military alliance (such as Japan & South Korea) contractors. We have the right to state that by law if an American contractor moves to a non-Allied country we yank the contract out from under them.
From a moral view, Savaage is right but business don't operate based on morals.
Damn straight! As far as I'm concerned, ANY American corporation that moves their corporate offices out of the country CEASES to be an American corporation. Whether people like it or not, Halliburton has (and is) making millions/billions off the war in Iraq, and now the suits stab the country in the back by, albeit legal, avoiding to pay taxes. For some reason, the Federal government doesn't care if American corporations pay taxes, but you, the average American citizen, try NOT filling out your income tax for this year and see what happens.
