Just another "mostly peaceful" left-wing demonstration.
I spoke with a few friends in Brazil over the weekend. They say that in general, the protests have been small, and appears mostly to be organized by Chavista groups in South America. The friends don't particularly care about Bush, but they say that the general Brazilian population hate these particular protestors because they are the typical leftist/student groups that tend to thrive in the universities (same stuff here in the US). The general population is more upset with local politics than with Pres. Bush himself. They don't understand why people don't protest current domestic policies which are more important to them, than what Pres. Bush is doing. I remember when Clinton went to Greece during the Serbia/Kosovo conflict. The South Americans have nothing compared to what Clinton encountered in Greece.
