In-Town Chicago Mail System Worst In US

In-town Chicago mail system worst in U.S.

CHICAGO, March 11 (UPI) -- A report that Chicago's in-town overnight mail delivery is the nation's worst appears indicative of the city's overall problem with postal satisfaction.

The Chicago Sun-Times said that in addition to Chicago's struggles with in-town mail delivery, the Illinois metropolis has been failing in nearly every postal area related to customer satisfaction.

While 92 percent remains the average quality rating of U.S postal delivery, only 77 percent of Chicago residents rated their mail services "excellent, very good or good."

In response to instances of mail fraud and delivery problems, Chicago postmaster Gloria E. Tyson said that a massive overhaul is on the horizon for the city's postal service.

"The city of Chicago has spoken and the postal employees are taking action... And I'm telling them I want it done yesterday," she said.

The Sun-Times said that changes will likely include an increase in mail carriers on certain routes and staffing increases at specific post offices.

More incoming union members brought about by your current crew performing badly. The libs are loving this.

That's the way socialism causes decay whenever it is applied.

Same song they have been singing for the last 20 years.

"Wait till next year, we're working on it now"
sung to the tune of, "Wait till the sun shines Nellie"

I'm drooling.

Does the name "Pavlov" ring a bell?

My wife, two friends, and myself ordered deep dish pizzas at a place in Des Plaines. We were ignorant enough to order one 10-incher for each of us.

I now know why the waiter had such a big grin on his face as he took the order.

Now, it is YOUR turn to salivate:

The USPS promotes from within and has always promoted mediocity. Almost all current managers are former craft. At least when Congress appointed the Postmasters there was accountability. Now there is no one who can oust someone for simply poor performance.

In related news, Chicago has so many alternatives to the Post Office, most Chicagoans had forgotten it exists.

Wasn't Chicago where they caught a mail carrier who had been dropping half his daily load in a dumpster for years? And where thousands of Netflix videos were "disappearing" during the sorting process?

My local PO screws me on Priority Mail. I pay extra for 2-3 day delivery, but when my package gets here, it may take them more than a day to get from the back door to my PO Box!

And it doesn't seem to bother them at all...

Not only rain, sleet and snow, but now unionized laziness and sloth will keep any mail from being delivered with any timeliness!

Millee, I swear the diamonds and pearls are in the mail!!!

I mailed an envelope to someone on a rural route from their post office, it took two weeks for it to be delivered. I mailed another to someone 60 miles away, it took 9 business days to get it there.

Don't bet money on it.
I had a client mail me data from Los Angeles to N Nevada & it took 21 days first class. I could have covered the 510 miles on horseback quicker.
