UN Agency Debates Israel Nuclear Programme

Iran branded Israel "a uniquely grave threat" to world peace because of its alleged nuclear weapons Thursday, after the UN atomic agency sharply cut aid to Tehran because of its own atomic programme. "Nuclear weapons in the hands of the Israeli regime with ... a long and dark catalogue of crimes and atrocity such as occupation, aggression, militarism, state terrorism, crimes against humanity and apartheid pose a uniquely grave threat to regional and international peace and security," Iranian ambassador Ali Asghar Soltanieh told the governing board of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran and Arab states complain that it is unfair to scrutinize Tehran for allegedly developing nuclear weapons when Israel has them and is not under IAEA monitoring, as it has not signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Dollars to doughnuts, Iran will use the "Israel had them first" argument whilst pursuing nuclear weapons.

The Israel was first argument will only be used when suits their needs, because when it comes to who had the land first, and who later in history developed to a modern country first, and who needed to defend it first they wont seem to think that is important. Playing fair only works when the other side respects the rules, otherwise Israel should tell them to go pound sand.

Funny, I never heard of any Israeli leadership calling for the destruction/eradication of an Islamic state.

We have heard such barbarism time and time again from the Arabs and most recently out of Iran.

Israel had very good reason to rain atomic destruction on its neighboring enemies in the past and resisted. Their track record is more convincing than anything these Islamists can present or promise.

UN and sandmaggot logic...

Israel has had nuclear capability for decades, but has yet to threaten any other country with their use.
Iran and Iraq, on the other hand, have used chemical weapons and unguided missiles against each other.

If Iran had a culture and society as stable as Israel's, she would get no special attention.
