It's funny, your post just reminded me of the fact that about this time last year, the media was having orgasms about how 2006 was going to be the worst hurricane season the earth had ever seen, and we'd be fortunate if there was a single city left standing on the East Coast by October. They've been rather quiet about it so far this year; do you suppose it's because they're chagrined by the fact that they got last year so wrong, or is it because there's no election this year?
Why does something tell me that 2008 will be trumpeted as the worst hurricane season the earth has ever seen, and that we'll be lucky if any East Coast cities, or Midwest cities (gotta factor in global warming, after all) are still standing in October?
Yeah maybe but my guess is they will just shut up this year.
