Thompson sounding very good with Chris Wallace. Saying the important things that need to be said. He's seems good on most of the issues. Problem though: On Iraq he would do what the president is doing? When will all Americans take this war seriously - including the president? Scrap the current ROE's. Dust off the bombers.

I think what he meant was that he'd do the surge...keep the troops in in country till the mission is finished and NOT listen to the weak sisters in the Congress.

Like Sen. Thompson said..."wars are full of mistakes"...this one is no different...what matters is who comes out the winner when the shooting stops.

Russians tried your style Counter Insurgency doctrine in Afghanistan. The Nazis tried it during WW 2 in Eastern Europe. How did that work out for them?

Counter Insurgency is not Total War. Most of the troops who are doing the bulk of the fighting and dying on ourside are Muslims. Practicing this sort of "kill them all" doctrine would make all those allies enemies instead.

This is the sort of trash talking from the pseudo "tough guy" never been anything Talk Radio Hosts that might make for good Talk Radio sound bites, in real life it is prescription for guaranteed failure.
