"How quickly the so-called conservatives will stab their conservative guy (Duncan Hunter) in the back for a TV Star."

BINGO!

When I posted a few Hunter threads were getting only crickets, but post a Rudy thread and all the anti-Rudy people, claiming to be for Hunter, come out in force, it's becoming obvious that the most in the anti-Rudy bunch were just using Hunter as a diversion, they couldn't care less about him.

This instant defection to Thompson, whose only contribution would be to split the Republican party and make it easier for Hillary is further evidence what their real agenda is -- with a few sincere, but misguided conservatives thrown in, to legitimize their activities.

Seems like the only loyal people are the Rudy people. At least we stick with our guy regardless. That shows how much we believe in him. If Thompson runs I feel real bad for Hunter.

The RINO Rudy Giuliani and his liberal supporters like YOU, are splitting the GOP. No one else. Almost any Republican candidate would be far better then Rudy and his big govt, pro-abort, pro-amnesty, pro gun grabbing, enviro-wacko kook politics.

You're definitely on the wrong forum.

You're politics are the antithesis of conservatism.

Alright I've had enough. I've got my asbestos underwear on because I'll no doubt get flamed beyond recognition but give me a break. Duncan Hunter is a good man but he's got about as much chance of winning as I do.

One chooses the most conservative person with a realistic chance of winning the nomination and the election. You DH diehards joust with windmills if you must, I'll work for a viable choice and let the Don Quixotes waist their time and efforts chasing ghost turds.

you are totally wrong. look at the FR poll for starters. Fred is the unity candidate in the Republican party. there are no other conservatives in the race who can win and no other Republican candidates except for Rudy who have legitimate national appeal at this time. add the baggage factor and Fred is alone. The most convincing comments I am seeing (besides at FR) can be summarized as "a republican I can vote for vs. a candidate to run against the democrats". that says it all.

umm how would he split the Republican party if he wins the nomination? does that mean you wouldn't vote for him and let crusty win?
