I found it somewhat telling that lib Nina Easton's husband is working for the McCain campaign.

When I posted a few Hunter threads were getting only crickets, but post a Rudy thread and all the anti-Rudy people, claiming to be for Hunter, come out in force, it's becoming obvious that the most in the anti-Rudy bunch were just using Hunter as a diversion, they couldn't care less about him.
This instant defection to Thompson, whose only contribution would be to split the Republican party and make it easier for Hillary is further evidence what their real agenda is -- with a few sincere, but misguided conservatives thrown in, to legitimize their activities.
Seems like the only loyal people are the Rudy people. At least we stick with our guy regardless. That shows how much we believe in him. If Thompson runs I feel real bad for Hunter.

I like Fred but I would want to learn where he stands on the issues and I have this sneaking suspicion that he is as pro-amnesty as the rest of the Republicans.
I still like Duncan Hunter best but then again I consider myself a Conservative more than a Republican.
You think we'll have a McCain/Thompson ticket? We heard about a possible Rudy/Santorum ticket speculated about earlier. Romney/Newt is next? Hmmmmm...... Oh, this is fun!
Actually, this might be a devised to get McCain to withdraw from the race.
McCain will not withdraw no matter what. He is going to be in the race to the bitter end.
Among potential complications in a Thompson race is that he is good friends with McCain.
Thats ok I voted for George Bush before I knew he would sell us out to the Mexican Government.but then John Kerry would have done the same thing and by now we would be surrendering to the Iraqui's.
I like Fred Thompson as long as he stays away from Mcpain.
