Not long ago, there were a lot of whispers about her chummy relationship with Peter MacKay, the Canadian foreign minister and MP. He's dashing, she's pretty, they're both whip-smart, and they seem to smile and laugh a lot within camera range but outside microphone range. Naturally, tongues started wagging.
But the article does raise the good point that Condi is in her 50s, never married, no kids, tough and smart and assertive, not dependent on anyone. I am secure enough in my manhood to admit that, metaphorically speaking, that she's b-llsier than I am. It wouldn't take a lot of heavy lifting to float a whisper campaign that she's a lesbian.
It would be a cheap tactic from the left, but it's a cheap tactic that's also been used by the right. And the Dems wouldn't want to be tied to it directly, but they could work through the right blogs, cut-outs and faux-independent groups to keep the murmur going. I bet it would appear on FR within hours.
