Totally off to the side, but this guy has been in Congress for 40 years and I have never heard of him.Not off to the side! The dude's been living in a bubble for the past 40 years, and his butt must be chapped from lobbyists, sycophants, and REMFs kissing it all those years.

For all of his "accomplishments", all I can say is:

I'm the last person to defend Obey. But these wacko liberal groups simply don't understand the mechanisms of government like we do. They really believe that Obey, in fact, does have some type of magic wand to stop the war.
The good news is that the hard Left is running the show of the Democratic Party. Look for a Green Party candidate or an even more liberal Democrat to challenge Obey next year. I seriously doubt it though. Obey is the Ted Kennedy of the House.

Unfortunately he's from my district. (7th District, Wisconsin... central Wisconsin) He's never gotten my vote, nor will he ever.
