YES on the 527 bill (like most Republicans, he flip-flopped, having first voted NO on McCain-Feingold)

Do you know what the 527 bill was? No one can be characterized as a flip flopper for voting NO on McCain-Feingold and YES on the 527 bill. The Club for Growth is being disengenious in saying that.

McCain-Feingold was BAD law. The 527 bill was an attempt to fix some of the BAD in McCain-Feingold. It called for 527 organizations to name their contributors. Of course, the Club for Growth IS a 527 organization and they have an axe to grind with any lawmaker that voted for the 527 bill because they vigorously opposed it.

I don’t remember the discussion at this point. Nor does that language about flip-flopping sound like mine. I don’t track legislation like this very closely. Wherever you cut the quote from, are you sure I wasn’t quoting someone else?
I suspect I was, given that I don’t know what the 527 bill was.
