A patriotic caravan of military families arrived in Bakersfield on Thursday night, one of dozens of stops on their way to our nation's capitol.
The group Move America Forward waved American flags as they arrived at the Doubletree Hotel around 9 p.m.
Their journey began Thursday morning in San Francisco and will end on March 17 in Washington, D.C.
Along the way, they plan to collect thousands of U.S. flags to show America's support for our troops who are fighting abroad.
"These young men and women answered the call of duty after 9-11 to serve our country and we need to remain always faithful to them until the job is done there, until they come home," said Deborah Johns, mother of a U.S. serviceman serving in Iraq.
The group plans to hold a rally at Heritage Park in Bakersfield on Friday at 8 a.m.
They are asking people to bring American flags.
All of the flags collected will be used to create a giant "Flag City" in Washington, D.C.
Thank you!
Bump.
Hopefully, we will be able to see pictures of the caravan as well as after they arrive in DC. More importantly, the pictures of the Gathering of Eagles need to be sent to Iraq and Afganistan so our American patriots can see that America supports them even if the US House of Liberals does not.
They actually used the "p" word in the title.
Good news bump!
do they want a flag from SOUTH DAKOTA? I have someone who will give me one to take to DC from here, if they want one donated from SD. Just let me know!!
