I haven't seen it either.

I think most of these episodes are made up by people trying to make a point. There probably are some genuine episodes of negative reactions - a mixture of crabby women, women who happen to be crabby at that point in time, and guys who creep the women out. :-)

No one who is kind looks creepy to me, and I thank them just the same, but that's just me. Maybe there are some cases out there, who knows.

This was back at the peak of the most misanthropic phase of the women's
lip lib movement. ('A women needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle' was a common bumper sticker)
It did happen, not every time by any means, but often enough to give one pause.
I will allow that saying it was typical is indeed overstating it a bit.
And it's only because of ladies like you that I kept doing it.

As you said earlier, it might be something
I was doing.
I'm thinking that after the first time I got a really negative reaction, maybe I became a bit more tentative? Perhaps I was in some subtle way acting as if I expected to be chewed out?
That would explain why my experience was atypical. Never particularly thought about it until this thread...

Hooking up is for women who do not have boyfriends.

I just don't see why any man who doesn't believe that sex outside of marriage is wrong, would EVER get married. What's the point really?
To have someone to have an emotional connection with and to spend time with and make a family with.
With the average age of marriage of twenty-seven years, waiting until marriage is impractical.
