Oh, really? Did they tell him he was never allowed to go to his Mosque and worship? What kind of crap is this? It's a building, idiots!

Well I guess he won't be going to BC, Notre Dame or Holy Cross. Too bad. More room for my daughter.

I guess the Muslim student is so shaky in his faith that merely being present in a Baptist church would cause him to immediately convert.

Of course if my religion forbids me from being having a teacher who is a transgendered crossdressing hermaphrodite, the ACLU will be right beside me on that right?

How did graduating in a church violate his rights? They believe in Christ as well

My local district does this because it's the only reasonably priced local venue to provide enough space for a student and all of his/her family to attend the graduation. One could argue that it was held in a church for safety and necessity.

"Schools should not sponsor activities that exclude some students from participation on the basis of religious belief."
__________________________________________________________

Muslims should not enter their children in schools that differ from their beliefs.

And all schools worthy of being schools do.

ACLU can't separate the church from the Church.

Forbidden from entering a building with religious images, unless they're images of his own religion.

Of course

When I was in second grade our public school was overcrowded so the entire second grade class was moved to the Baptist Church down the street. The Baptist Church became the public school. We used their facilities, their desks, their playgrounds, their swings. There was probably a bible in every desk too, but I can't remember.

TRENTON, New Jersey (AP) -- The state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is suing the Newark public school district, saying a school's decision to hold its graduation ceremonies in a Baptist church violated a Muslim student's religious freedom.

Was this muslim a vampire and thus unable to physically attend the graduation? No? CASE DISMISSED.

I went to Catholic School and our graduation was held in the basketball court. I just figured everyone had their graduation in the school. Now my eighth graduation was held in the Catholic Church of the school I graduated from. I guess it was the difference of kids graduating.

The ACLU supports any deviant, perverted cause that destroys traditional American values.

Dear ACLU and muslim student,
Please take into account that your average American cares more about what they are eating than this students discomfort. If he wants special rights because of his religion, he'll just have to toughen up and deal without. It will make him a stronger person and teach him to be more tolerant to the majority instead of the other way around. We conservatives do not wish to have our money spent on this student and wish for this to just roll over and die. If this angers you, just remember, we have guns.

Ryan

Why do these municipalities even bother to file answers in these ridiculous lawsuits? Let the ACLU get a summary judgment and then try to enforce it. Every school and town sued by the ACLU should ignore all such lawsuits and any corresponding court orders or sanctions. If everyone ignored and stymied them they would quickly run out of money.

No one forced that Muslim to be here. This is a Christian nation and his parents knew that when they got here. Imagine if I, a Catholic did the same in Saudi Arabia? Those jerks wouldn't even allow me in school. In fact, there'd be a good chance I'd be dead. If Muslims are so offended then they have to go and live in a Muslim country where they won't be "denied their rights".

Shareef's religious beliefs forbid him from entering a building with religious images

Not all Muslims believe that, so this is an easy case to dismiss.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It is **axiomatic**! The education of children is NEVER religiously neutral!

It is impossible for government schools to be religiously neutral! Therefore, government must get out of the education business!

There is **NO** way for the government to resolve this issue without offending the freedom of conscience of all least some of the students! No matter what it chooses to do, it **will** establish the religious worldview of some, and trash the religious values of others!

Solution: Complete separation of **school*** and state. Begin the process of privatizing universal K-12 education.
