There have been a lot of trashy sitcoms about dysfunctional families that have done well over the years. Some have had better writing and acting (think "The Honeymooners") and some have truly stunk up the entire medium (like "Married With Children"). However, the idea of the cavemen 'struggling with discrimination' will be so PC and so preachy that it will not be funny.

No because the cavemen are a subtle metaphor for white folks in society. They're the one group that it's ok to demean -- and they're offended. Done right it could be HILARIOUS.

It could (probably would) go that way. It could also be a vehicle to touch on societal taboos a la South Park.
