Fred Thompson should run for President Here's why...
Fred Thompson is a true American statesman and has the experience that matters.
Fred is a real conservative. From tax cuts, to cleaning up government, to his vital role in the confirmation of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Fred Thompson has a record of fighting for conservative values.
Fred has the knowledge and expertise on the issues that matter most in today's world.
Fred Thompson, like Ronald Reagan, has the ability to bring conservative principles to the Oval Office, communicate to Americans, and bring our Nation together
Selecting from a list based on the 'lesser of evils' is not something I want to do, but if it's between that and Hillary, I'm there.
By 1997, when I returned, I thought I was on another planet. I parked on the West side near the USS Intrepid, walked down to South Street Seaport and got hammered with some college buddies, then walked back to my car, through Chinatown, at 3:00 AM and came out alive ( the designated driver helped, too.)
Thanks g. I doesn't say very much, and the info is almost 10 years old : )

Well I have to admit, I think Fred would be electable in the general election and has a good record.
You credit a DemonRat over Giuliani for lowering crime in NYC? That's the same argument Democrats used for years to discredit Giuliani. Dinkins deserves the credit. Giuliani is a fraud who is stealing the credit from Dinkins. The fact is that Giuliani did more than deal with trivialities like graffiti. His crackdown on quality of life crimes netted parole violators, drug dealers and wanted criminals. Cracking down on street drug trafficing helped to take the streets back from the vermin who were terrorizing whole neighborhoods. That helped to make people fell safe to walk the streets and it created an atmosphere in which new businesses opened up. Giuliani cracked down on the porno shops and cleaned out the low-lives that such businesses attracted. Times Square has been transformed from a cesspool into an area that attracts tourists and business people from around the world. The fact is that the murder rate was cut almost in half while Giuliani was mayor. To deny the effectiveness of his anti-crime policies and to trivialize what he accomplished in order to discredit him is disingenuous.
Point taken, but wasn't he a single (divorced) dog?
I like him but doubt he'll run. He's too tight with McKook.
I don't credit anyone over anyone else, that is what the statistics show. Pure numbers. Can't argue with that.
I would take that over some candidates who might be playing for the other team!
Here is some more information covering his record thru 2002. I'd say he was more on the pro-side of rights for illegal aliens. I hope someone asks him whether he favors McCain's Senate bill?

He was wimpier than I would like before 2000, but toughened up considerable after that, and voted NO on amnesty.
I think this is one guy most of FR could back.
Take a look for yourself! http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm
Unlike Hunter and Tancredo, Thompson has the ideas to unite the party and the charisma to win. I'm in the Giuliani camp now, but I would definitely consider defecting if Thompson threw his hat in the ring.
Ya know, with an overly politicized screed like that, and complete ignorance of true fact, your screenname is what is disingenuous.
Woof!
Hunter has no competition compared to the other(joke) candidates. Rudy is a disaster!
What did Dinkins have to do with the rest of what I said about Giuliani's extremely effective anti-crime policies? Did Dinkins institute those policies? Did Dinkins stand up for the police in NYC or did he tie their hands and stop them from doing their duty as he did during the Crown Heights anti-semitic riots? The fact is, there were no such riots while Giuliani was Mayor because the racial arsonists like Sharpton knew that unlike Dinkins, Giuliani would not tolerate it. I lived in NYC all the time Giuliani was Mayor. Your version of reality is absurd. Find more valid arguments against Giuliani like his being pro-choice or pro-gun control. To distort his record on crime is disingenuous.
You're my kind of dog....lol.
