Shooting Elephants in a Barrel [Ann Coulter]
Human Events ^ | March 7, 2007 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 03/07/2007 3:56:09 PM PST by kabar

Lewis Libby has now been found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice for lies that had absolutely no legal consequence.

It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame's name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department's Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with "perjury" and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

This makes it official: It's illegal to be Republican.

Ann's an entertainer and a polemicist,

I actually don't care for her on television, but her books are solid.

This is where the next fight is. Win your local school board. Urge your Conservative children to become lawyers, teachers, professors, and scientists (especially the climate type). Infiltrate the media. Start your own media. Pay attention to the judges on the ballots. Someday they might be "appointees" for a President. We need to take back every area Rush has stated. And yes, we still need to win the elections.

You make a lot of sense.

So Mr Fritzgerald, did you do this show trial because of your out of control ego or merely due to cowardice?

NOPE. Fitzgerald has had it out for the Bush administration since faulty CIA information was supposedly the blame for the terrorists on Sept 11 and getting this country to invade Iraq. The CIA has two major flaws. 1) Most of the personnel in it are liberals and hate the Bush administration just like the State Department. 2) When Clinton was in power, he castrated it just like he did the military. Personnel numbers were slashed, not making it possible for the CIA to train new people and keep seasoned field agents. If Clinton did not the military forces and funds to keep it going, the war in Iraq would is be close to done or already won. This is why troops are already doing their third or fourth tours already.
As far as Libby is concerned, Fitzgerald went phishing and caught Libby making an error in his statements. Everyone knows, only Republicans and conservatives have to be perfect while the libs and the dems lie and cheat their way in and out of wallets.

In my cynical old age...I am even MORE convinced that Ms. Coulter's Edwards-Faggot comment was a calculated move. The CPAC event was a complete setup to draw attention to herself.

Having hogged the spotlight for over 5 days now, how many MORE people are going to read this particular masterpiece?

I don't care how much you can't stand republicans...if you read this piece, you've been punched right in the gut.

She went from Billy Buckner to Kirk Gibson.

Mea Culpa.

Not only is it illegal to be republican, but the First Amendment has been amended to include only liberals and democrats.
Republicans no longer have the right of Free Speech !

Also, only republicans can be convicted of hate speech; just like whites can only be racists.

Why can't republicans file a class action suit for having their freedom of speech disenfranchised ?

Bill Clinton was not even prosecuted for obstruction of justice offenses so egregious that the entire Supreme Court staged a historic boycott of his State of the Union address in 2000.

Another keeper!
Thank you, Ann.

To refuse to even investigate would of been an effort to conceal what may have been a crime.

"Would of been?"

I hope your grasp of justice is better than your grasp of English...

I just think that her act is, well, an act. She takes extreme positions and makes extreme statements so that she can sell her books, not out of any conviction.

Ann is an entertainer. She has her own distinctive style, which separates her from the rest of the herd. The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you've got it made.

Your statement.

She's back better than ever.

I had posted previously that Ann has the secret. On a barrage of the politically correct ninnies, so many innocents have- on being caught with a WORD, backed down. They have re-worded their statement, they have trembled and asked forgiveness, they have attended meetings with hard eyed members of minorities. Not Ann. Think how others were savaged for weeks. Blood was smelled in the water. As to Ann's steely determination, it has paid off.

Result? the furore is dying down quickly (hope I am right). She comes out swinging. If others do not see the Achilles heel of the left, they deserve future humiliation. Oh, one more statement from me.

Free Scooter.

I'm still sore at her.

But if anything deserves your love, it's the enigma, isn't it?

If anything, I am most upset at congressional Republicans like our former House Majority Leader, Dennis Hastert, who responded to William Jefferson, D-LA's sheninigans, by DEFENDING THE CREEP!!!!

This is your Republican Party for you.

Republicans are gutless appeasers.

Bears repeating.

Hate to say it, though I voted for the man........twice.......so is Bush. His inaction on so many security issues, social, fiscal and moral is so blatant one would guess he's a secret DU'er or a closet social democrat.

Hey moron...stop hijacking threads with your Bush Bashing.

You read like a seminar caller with your "I voted for the man.....twice...."

You'd vote for him a third time too, if he was the candidate in 2008.

So nice to make your acquaintance. How is DC this evening? It's cold up here in southcentral PA.

The name is Rob, not "moron".

I have voted for W, twice. No, never went to a seminar. If you'd kindly point to the threads that *I* have "hijacked" with Bush bashing, I'd appreciate it. Since you'll be unable to do so, I suggest you back off and mind your manners and your tongue. If voicing deep disappointment is "bashing", one of us needs to use a dictionary and learn the meaning of the term. I'm certain *I* understand the English language.

Are we clear or do you have the insistent desire to make a fool of yourself.
