Disarmed America.

Posted on 03/07/2007 3:14:26 PM PST by Papabear47

Why are our elected officials making such an effort to ignore or destroy our Constitution. The First ammendment has been weakened more and more by McCain/Feingold and political correctness. The Second will be destroyed verry soon here in Illinois and at the Federal by Illinois SB0016 and Federal level HB1022. We as a nation are facing an enemy who will be verry willing to kill every man, woman and child in this country. And yet our officials are more concerned with their own well being than that of the unwashed masses. We cannot depend on Government at any level to aid us in the event of a concerted terrorist attack(s) as is proovable by the response to Hurricane Katrina. The two major parties have given us Socialist as our only option for President in 2008,at least up to this point, and I see no effort on the part of Republicans to properly address this leftist policy. telling us that anyone is better than Hillary. No one but Giuliani and his Nixonian style of rule can save us from whatever evils are sure to come along. At least we will be alive to serve as we should an bow our heads and kneel to the New World Order

Not so fast . I'm not a fan of Dim control , but there are many Dims who were elected in Conservative districts who won't march along with the leftist Gun Control agenda. The gun ban gets introduced every year , it just hasn't gone anywhere .
Also remember the Dims don't have the bully pulpit and a slickster like Klinton to push and pressure congress to push this evil garbage. Drudge has an article up regarding how the Blue Dog Dims are standing up to Pelosi and her ilk in the house . They are the King/Queenmakers in the house and most of them are pro-gun .

The Dims are not anxious to lose control this fast , so I don't think they are going to allow this bill to get very far . We also have Larry Craig and Mitch McConnell in the Senate who i'm sure would launch a filibuster this time around .
We can't let our guard down, but we can't sound false alarms or we run the risk of complacency amongst gun owners.

You have more faith in these people than I do.I served in the military 1968-1970,my brother in Korea 1950-1952 and we have seen just how good the words of a pollitition really are....Walter Reed hospital has been on the firing line for many years and as a disabbled vet I know what VA hospitals are like....NOT GOOD.
However I hope I am wrong.

"Walter Reed hospital has been on the firing line for many years and as a disabled vet I know what VA hospitals are like....NOT GOOD."

I too am a service-connected disabled veteran. I made my first journey in about 20+ years to a VA hospital back in January. They don't seem to have changed much from way back when. For me, the VA hospital "experience" just reconfirmed the old adage that going to a VA hospital gives the veteran a second opportunity to die for their country.

Just a nitpick.Walter Reed is not a VA hospital. It is an Army hospital.

I don't have much faith in these people either. The Second Amendment shouldn't even be an issue that we have to constantly defend .
I was just assessing the current state of the Gun Ban regarding the current political situation with the Dims .

It would be helpful if there were true conservative candidates for office. Since the GOP doesn't seem to be able or willing to find any, we're going to have to do that ourselves. We might even have to light up a third party with some vigor. Either the current GOP "reps" get with the program, or dump them in masse.
