I'm guessing it is a joke. Otherwise the cover would include "This Is Bush's Fault!"

Nope. (Well, it IS a joke, but not to the writers of SI):

As global warming changes the planet, it is changing the sports world too. Already, surprising and innovative ideas are helping sports to adapt.

This crap is everywhere. More sickening by the day.
I really feel sorry for little children. What a hell of a world they are going to have.

I'm afraid it's not a joke, unless someone has gone to a LOT of trouble to make it.

The domain appears to be a valid CNN.COM domain and I don't think you can fake that easily.

And the cover is certainly a professional piece of work.

So I'm afraid it's real.

It might be a more interesting story than you might think though, since it's talking about ways to cope with global warming, something I'd be interested in.

That is, if global warming is happening, I'd love to know how we can adjust to it, as opposed to how to stop it. After all, to be honest, most parts of the world would be better off with warmer weather. I have read that the hot parts of the world will hardly be affected at all, and winter will be far more affected than summer, so human comfort-wise global warming of a few degrees would be a very clear win-win.

So if we could prevent global warming from affecting the polar ice caps and increasing sea levels, I'd like to see it happen. I think we should be thinking about how to do that instead of trying to figure out how to prevent warming.

It may not have started out as one, but it certainly is now. This could be one of the best photo shop contests in awhile!

Break out the popcorn and enjoy!
