The Church doesn't come out against candidates. This orthodox Catholic newspaper would never endorse Ted Kennedy. That's a given.
This is certainly not the first time a candidate has been opposed by the Catholic Church over this issue (it may not have been mentioned as pointedly in print, but the priests certainly got the message across). However, if this is somehow new to your diocese, I have a better question: Why NOT start with Giuliani?
Conservative Catholic publications have spoken out against Ted Kennedy and other pro-abortion politicians, but the bishops (with a handful of exceptions) don't. As much as I like conservative Christian publications, the only people who bother to read them (as well as liberal Christian publications) are those who already share their philosophy.
Kennedy isn't running for President.
