WRKO now sucks!
To: LoneRangerMassachusetts
Well sometimes the Red Sox are going to be playing between Howie's time slot.
To: LoneRangerMassachusetts
There's always that other talk station on the FM dial. I'm sure Howie would be a welcome addition.

I haven't lived in Boston for several years now, although it is still our legal home, but please tell me, why has WEEI dropped the Red Sox?

I just turned on WRKO in Boston @ 2PM, when RUSH LIMBAUGH should have been on (Howie comes on @ 3:00). What do I hear? A Red Sox exhibition game! They pre-empted Rush freakin' Limbaugh!!!!!

WEEI and WRKO are both owned by Entercom. They're the ones who decided to move them over to WRKO.
To: LoneRangerMassachusetts
They had hired John Depetro, enough said.

Why bring this up now?

Seems pointless to me, but hey--it's Massachusetts. Thanks for the info. :-)

I didn't understand it either considering most listeners to WEEI would be tuning into the Red Sox game anyways.
To: LoneRangerMassachusetts
If Howie is good enough, there will be another station in town who will snatch him up at the first opportunity.
Morons are allowed to run their businesses as they please and hemorrage as much $ as they want. Paul Allen(aka the accidental billionaire) has lost hundreds of millions on the Trailblazers. Rob Glaser lost millions on Air America. Let them flush their cash down the rat-holes. It's good for the economy.

I no longer listen to WRKO.
Rush used to be available on the Internet, and likely still is, but I don't have the time.
As for the Red Sox, I was a big fan when I was in my teens, but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (I still like the Patriots though)
Besides that, they have absolutely ruined Fenway Park, and I'd never even consider going to a game there again.

I no longer listen to WRKO. Same here.I can pick up Rush on a Providence station plus he's streamed on WABC in New York.Howie and Savage I can pick up on that new station in Worcester...plus they're streamed there.
The day they picked up that slimey, filthy felon Finneran was the last day my dial was on 680AM.

What is the name of the new station in Worcester?
To: metesky
Exactly. I'll bet his wife was househunting when she was down there recently. Moving between two time slots is NOT the way to keep an audience. WRKO has been going down hill for the last couple of years. Even Howie was beginning to sound derivative and desperate as the station sank. That's another reason why he was flogging his book so hard. Howie is focused on his own bottom line. He isn't about to waste his time at a sinking radio station. I think he'll leave WRKO tbefore the end of the summer.
By the way, Sean H. is on 610 out of New Hampshire 3-6PM 5 days a week.
To: WesternMA
I don't know its call letters, but it's 580 AM. They have Rush noon till 3PM. Howie is on 830 AM, also in Worcester, but I again don't know the call letters.

Just remembered it: 580 AM in Worcester is WTTT. It carries Rush noon till 3PM every weekday, same as WRKO in Boston used to do.

A convicted felon, ex-politican has filled in for Rush in the past.
