The bill would require hospitals to tell rape victims that the morning-after pill is highly effective at preventing pregnancy.

Hospitals also would have to dispense the medication to victims who request it.

The morning after pill is very effective in preventing ovulation during the time conception could occur due to rape. Conception isn't a fact within minutes of ejaculation ... sperm don't swim that fast.

yes, but this is a bill to REQUIRE this method to be offered, even by a pro-life institution, such as a catholic hospital.

It's not that there aren't already alternatives to obtain this chemical if, in fact, the very shaken young lady would want it. Why mandate a person to go against thier very faith, and to suport this industry and stock this drug?

How does one "enforce" an "option"?

I do have a problem with government using words like "require" and "mandate" with regard to hospitals. That's a dangerous precedent to have established - one we will likely regret later.

The way Dems fight to sterilize their own, you'd think we'd be out of them by now.

Why did you change the headline?

Forcing a Catholic Hospital is a violation of Church and State ... I'm serious. Hospital care paid for by the Church is a Church function. If a law prescribes a mandatory behavior for a Church, that is government imposing it's religion of secular humanism upon the Catholic Church. But are you surprised at the lack of discernment allowing elected reps to think this is the proper way through the issue?

Changed it? I wrote it. It's my post. Besides, headlines are (re-)written by editors all the time (Drudge). As long as it accurately descibes the article, its job is to attract readers, which it does.

The morning after pill is NOT abortion it is birth control. According to you, if a woman is raped she should have no right to prevent pregnancy. How disgusting. A pregnancy resulting from rape is a tragedy.
