Malkin was not the first to expose Ann's joke or at least to scold her....and I think this is a bit different....I mean I think most FReepers would be on the same side about gay porn......LOL...I hope

FYI: Ann made the following remarks at CPAC during the same Q&A she made the faggot comment:

"I do want to point out one thing that has been driving me crazy with the media -- how they keep describing Mitt Romney's position as being pro-gays, and that's going to upset the right wingers," she said. "Well, you know, screw you! I'm not anti-gay. We're against gay marriage. I don't want gays to be discriminated against."

She added, "I don't know why all gays aren't Republican. I think we have the pro-gay positions, which is anti-crime and for tax cuts. Gays make a lot of money and they're victims of crime. No, they are! They should be with us."

Things have changed since Gannon was outed. Somewhere in between a huge percentage of the right has bought into the gay agenda, at least when it comes to how you talk about it (political correctness). Hence, they support Rudy, knowing full well how agressive he has been in promoting the gay agenda. They get the vapors when Annie says "faggot". They have ceased fighting the good fight to keep sex-ed from being co-opted by GLAAD.

Something ain't right.

"Malkin was not the first to expose Ann's joke or at least to scold her...."

Sure she was. By a long shot. She practically blogged it live from the CPAC floor.

She beat Howard Dean by several hours. And she certainly matched him in moral indignation.

"I mean I think most FReepers would be on the same side about gay porn......LOL...I hope"

As Michelle Malkin and most people around here should know by now, there are a lot of conservatives are who are interested in porn. And there are a lot of homosexual conservatives.

"Something ain't right."

Hey, it's okay to do it. You just can't joke about it.

But as you and I both know, Coulter wasn't making a joke about "faggots."

She was making a joke about going to rehab for using that word.

The term hate speech in reference to Ann does not fly with me.

"I think I've had my fill of "faggots" for awhile.....figuratively speaking of course"

You and me both.

If I never hear the word again, it will be too soon.

This is a more tiresome subject than Anna Nicole Smith.

We should put it to rest.

And a scolding like yours is reasonable, even though I do not agree, since I see here line as brilliant and necessary in these PC times.

But when bloggers join forces to "repudiate" her "vile" and "disgusting" language, then I turn my scorn to them.

Is Drudge a poofer?

Yes, I know. Makes even more unbearable to hear the likes of Malkin, Dean Barrett, and Capt Ed meltdown like they did. I've lost a huge amount of respect for those guys.

Thank goodness for the WWW...even if the facts are incorrect, we can usually use the internet to support just about anything.

Well, Ann's faggot quip was given more life by the conservative media than even the MSM. I couldn't tell the difference between the two, frankly.
________

I'm glad that someone has said this. I read the Baltimore Sun every day (yes I still subscribe - old habits die hard) and watch my share of both network and cable news. Here in B'more the MSM could not have been more indifferent to Ann's comment. A short blurb was about all she got.

Could this be the downside to the "new media"? As far as I can tell, this story dominated the internet, not the public airwaves.

"What did he do so wrong..."

If the gay porn allegations are true do you think he should be allowed to stay in the Marines?

I think ACU and CPAC were doing some damage control and some parsing of words. If you read the statement carefully, you will see that they didn't accuse Ann of using hate speech. They also noted that, "“Ann Coulter is known for comments that can be both provocative and outrageous. That was certainly the case in her 2007 CPAC appearance and previous ones as well." You can bet she will be invited back.

I also direct your attention to these sentences, "ACU and CPAC do not condone or endorse every speaker or their comments at the conference. As such, ACU and CPAC leave it to our audience to determine whether comments are appropriate or not." I attended CPAC. It is up to me to decide, not ACU or CPAC. Sounds good to me.

I guess. The term "hate speech" is as stupid as "hate crimes", IMO. So even if, as you say, it was not directed at Ann, which may be the case, its still PC claptrap. Nevertheless, I don't doubt the ACUs conservative credentials.
