You know, I admire Rudy and have respect for him, especially during 9/11, but putting him in office with a Republican title will not help our case as conservatives, painting us as hypocrites and opening that door that will not be closed again. If we get ONE Republican president who is pro-abortion/gun grabbing, we'll get the lefties after us who will say, "Hey, you voted for a republican who was pro-abortion/anti-gun, why can't you do the same for a democrat who stands for the same? What's the difference?" I see it coming if Rudy is promoted.
I respect your position, though I think there is room to believe that Rudy is not going to advance abortion or gun control legislation.
Personally, I will support the R candidate, regardless of who is nominated. I like Hunter as much as anyone in the forum, but sadly, I think he will have a very difficult time in the national election. I may be wrong ...
Since 911, I have become a single issue WOT voter, and I believe a majority of the big, mushy middle has as well.
Rudy is perceived as strong that way and I hope he will be if it ends up that he's elected. Among those I know, he is popular, even with some who disagree with him on so-called social issues. At this time, he has support from many voters. It is not only a result media coverage - that many here have proposed.
